Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 5, 2026

1. Overview

Eden ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Josh Brown, an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Eden habit tracking app and website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Eden, we collect:

  • Account information — your email address and password (stored as a secure hash).
  • Profile data — optional details such as your name, wake-up time, and energy level that you provide during onboarding.
  • Habit data — the habits you create, including their name, icon, schedule, and completion history.
  • Usage data — streaks, productivity scores, and weekly activity derived from your habit completions.

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera access, or any other sensitive device data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide and sync the Eden app across your devices (including Apple Watch).
  • Display your habit history, streaks, and stats.
  • Send optional push notifications to remind you about your habits.
  • Process in-app subscription purchases through Apple.

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Neon (PostgreSQL database) and deployed via Fly.io. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

5. Third-Party Services

Eden uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple — for in-app purchases and push notifications.
  • Fly.io — for API server hosting.
  • Neon — for database storage.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We do not share personally identifiable information with them beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen inside the Eden app, which permanently removes all your data from our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Eden is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and all associated data.

To exercise these rights, delete your account in-app or contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Eden after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
